I am a plastic artist who mainly uses painting and sculpture as an artistic language, but for a few years ceramics have occupied a prominent place in my artistic production. I am interested in clay as a material to achieve volumes and textures that transport me to a primitive and archaic world. Modeling, shaping, manipulating and treating matter to get new objects created from scratch has always seemed exciting and fascinating to me. As a painter that I am, I have been incorporating colors, lines, graphics, spots, drawings … to achieve pictorial ceramics, as a kind of volume painting. But I also irresistibly like this utilitarian and often decorative pottery that we can use to beautify the space or to accompany a well-served meal or table.
